American businessman won $114 million.

We continue to tell you about people who scooped a big prize in the lottery.
In 2002 Jack Whittaker an American businessman was 55 years old. He won a huge sum of about $315 million.

Jack bought a lottery ticket in a large supermarket, where he just stopped for some breakfast and to fill up his car.

In fact, Jack became richer by only $114 million since he preferred a full Jackpot of 315 million dollars. According to the rules of many American lotteries such Jackpots are paid out for several decades, but there is also the opportunity to take all the money right then, only in that case the amount will be three times less the actual prize.

Jack owned a very successful construction company in Virginia and he was a traditional family man.
No surprise that Jack spent 10% of his winnings on charity. He donated money to build churches and he founded his own charitable foundation, which helped poor families in Virginia not only with food, but also with clothing.

Interesting fact, Jack thanked the saleswoman in the supermarket, which sold him a lucky ticket and as gratitude he gave her a luxurious house, a car and 50 thousand dollars.

After a while Jack became addicted to games in the casino. He lost a lot of money and was in debt to one of the largest casinos, for what he was sued. He also began to drink a lot, divorced his wife and being drunk while driving was several times stopped by policemen.

His wealth was bothering people - women repeatedly sued him because of alleged sexual harassment and even some men accused him in attempted murder and inflicted bodily harm.

Within a few years Jack Whittaker went bankrupt - some of the money was simply stolen, some he spent, some just handed away. The construction business also collapsed and the charity closed as it exhausted all its financial resources.
